Dive-site story
Rising sharply from an open sandy seafloor offshore from Bootless Bay near Port Moresby, Suzie's Bommie is an isolated coral pinnacle. The reef structure reaches toward the surface and is swathed in dense gorgonian fans, barrel sponges, and soft coral blooms. Because of its freestanding position in open water, pelagic fish school around the upper crest while macro critters shelter within the seafloor crevices and sea fans.
Classic seamount formation rising from a sandy seabed
Dense clusters of giant gorgonian sea fans harboring pygmy seahorses
Schools of schooling pelagics orbiting the pinnacle in open current
