Dive-site story
Resting upright on a sandy seabed off Malajon Island, the Nanshin Maru is a World War II-era coastal tanker often referred to as the Black Island Wreck. Because of its location outside Coron Bay, it regularly benefits from clearer water and brighter ambient light than the wrecks clustered in the main bay. The vessel is encrusted with hard and soft corals, while schools of reef fish congregate around the superstructure, cargo holds, and mast structures.
