Dive-site story
Submerged during the 1871 volcanic eruption of Mount Vulcan, this historical site offshore Catarman on Camiguin Island is marked above water by a large commemorative cross. Below the surface, old grave structures and volcanic rock formations are heavily encrusted with stony corals and soft coral colonies. The underwater terrain transitions from shallow reef flats into a steady slope of sand and coral heads.
