Dive-site story
NRP Almeida Carvalho is a former Portuguese hydrographic survey vessel intentionally scuttled off the coast of Portimão as part of the Ocean Revival artificial reef park. Resting upright on a sandy seafloor, the intact hull features purpose-cut access corridors tailored for wreck exploration. Encrusting sponges, hydroids, and anemones colonize the steel exterior, attracting schools of coastal fish and predatory species patrolling the superstructure.
