Dive-site story
Known internationally as Chandelier Cave, this system consists of five distinct chambers carved into the limestone base of the Rock Islands inside Malakal Harbor. Divers enter through a wide underwater opening and navigate through series of water-filled caverns where stalactites and stalagmites formed during prehistoric low sea levels hang overhead. Air pockets in the upper ceilings allow divers to surface inside several chambers to view the geological formations before moving to the next cavern section.
