Bodekull is an exceptionally well-preserved 17th-century Swedish naval transport ship resting upright on the seabed in the Stockholm archipelago near Dalarö. Sunk in late autumn during the Scanian War while carrying flour and supplies, the wooden vessel remains nearly intact thanks to the cold, low-salinity environment of the Baltic Sea that prevents shipworm colonization. Divers encounter standing timber structures, intact hull planking, deck equipment, and historical details frozen in time. Access is strictly regulated through certified heritage dive operators to protect the delicate historical woodwork from anchor damage and diver contact.
