Dive-site story
Situated off Sturkö in the Karlskrona archipelago, Ekenabben is an accessible underwater heritage site featuring a historic ship cemetery. Six Swedish line-of-battle ships and frigates from the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries were deliberately scuttled here to block passage to the Karlskrona naval base. The site features an underwater dive trail with guide lines and informational plaques adjacent to well-preserved oak hulls, keels, and structural timbers lying across a sheltered silt and sand bed.
