Dive-site story
Rising from the sandy seabed between Phuket and the Phi Phi Islands, this completely submerged limestone pinnacle does not break the surface, earning its local Thai name Hin Jom (Sunken Rock). The pinnacle is smothered in extensive carpets of green and purple sea anemones that harbor hundreds of anemonefish. Divers typically circle the rock in a slow spiral ascent, exploring overhangs, soft coral fields, and crevices packed with macro life.
Vast fields of symbiotic sea anemones covering the upper reef plateau
Schools of yellowtail barracuda and jacks circling in open water off the pinnacle edges
Leopard sharks resting on the perimeter sand bottom
Tigertail seahorses and ghost pipefish hiding in soft corals
