Dive-site story
Garang Heng is a submerged limestone pinnacle situated east of the Phi Phi archipelago. The reef crown is carpeted in sea anemones and soft corals before dropping away into sandy plateaus and boulder fields where leopard sharks frequently rest. Because the formation stays entirely underwater without breaking the surface, boat traffic overhead is common, requiring careful ascents directly to the mooring line or deploying a surface marker buoy.
