Dive-site story
Resting on her starboard side in the Samae San channel, the HTMS Hardeep is a World War II shipwreck sunk by Allied bombers in 1945. Originally the steam cargo vessel SS Suedsakorn, the hull forms an artificial reef where divers explore open cargo holds, the engine room structure, and the propeller shaft. Encrusting soft corals and sponges cover the steel. Strong tidal flows sweep through the channel, requiring dive planning around slack water windows.
