Dive-site story
Sunk deliberately in May 2011 as an artificial reef near Koh Ngam Noi off the coast of Chumphon, this former Royal Thai Navy landing craft sits upright on an open sand bed. The vessel's superstructure remains largely intact, featuring open deck spaces, easily navigated corridors, and the decommissioned forward anti-aircraft gun mounts. Over years on the seabed, encrusting corals, barnacles, and black coral bushes have colonized the metal hull, turning the ship into a focal point for schooling pelagics in an otherwise featureless seascape.
Well-preserved superstructure with intact deck guns and external companionways
Dense aggregations of juvenile and schooling fish sheltering inside the open cargo hold
Frequent pelagic visitors circulating the upper wheelhouse and surrounding open water
