Dive-site story
The King Cruiser was an 85-meter passenger catamaran ferry that sank in May 1997 after striking nearby Anemone Reef en route from Phuket to Phi Phi. Resting upright on a sandy bottom, the wreck has deteriorated over time, with the upper decks collapsing inwards to form an expansive artificial reef. The hull and collapsed superstructure provide ample shelter for massive schools of fish, though overhead penetration is no longer advised due to structural degradation.
Massive clouds of yellow snapper and trevally swirling around the collapsed wheelhouse and stern decks
Expansive artificial reef encrusted in soft corals, tube sponges, and sea anemones
Regular encounters with resting nurse sharks and large resident barracudas hovering midwater
