Dive-site story
Located off the western flank of Island 8 in the Similan archipelago, Turtle Rock takes its name from both a turtle-shaped surface rock formation and the sea turtles frequently seen grazing along the reef. Underwater, the site features a classic Similan landscape of tumbled granite boulders stacked to form swim-throughs, overhangs, and deep canyons. Sheltered crevices shelter dense patches of soft corals and sea fans, while the surrounding sand flats host benthic rays and garden eels.
Network of granite boulder swim-throughs and shallow caverns
Regular encounters with hawksbill and green sea turtles feeding along the reef
Occasional leopard sharks resting along the outer sandy perimeter
