Dive-site story
Situated just off the coastline of Sarıgerme in southwestern Turkey, Baba Island provides a classic Mediterranean rocky reef environment. Dive boats anchor on the sheltered leeward side before divers descend onto stepped rocky ledges and boulder fields that fall away into open water. Ancient terracotta amphora fragments lie cemented into the rock formations across the shallows, while deeper overhangs and crevices provide shelter for territorial marine life.
Ancient ceramic amphora remnants encrusted along rocky terraces
Overhangs, clefts, and small swim-through formations on the outer reef
Occasional encounters with loggerhead turtles commuting along the coastal route
