Dive-site story
Located off Karaada near Bodrum, Paçoz Bay is home to an intentionally scuttled Douglas C-47 Dakota aircraft. Sunk by the local diving association to form an artificial reef, the vintage military transport plane sits on a sloping sandy seabed. Storm action over the years has broken the fuselage into distinct sections, opening up interior frames to ambient light and creating shelter for resident Mediterranean fauna.
Well-preserved cockpit and wing structures resting on a clean sand slope
Spacious cargo hold allowing safe external viewing and penetration for qualified divers
Diverse Aegean fish species sheltering inside the fuselage and under the wings
