Dive-site story
Located along the southeastern coastline of Xiaoliuqiu, Houshi features an extensive fringing coral reef plateau dissected by sandy gullies. The reef gradually steps downward onto scattered coral heads where green sea turtles graze on algae and rest under rocky ledges. Calm shallows make the area popular for easy navigation, though outer edges exposed to open water occasionally pick up tidal flow.
Reliable encounters with resident green sea turtles feeding along the fringing reef edges
Expansive coral terraces cut by clean sandy channels hosting garden eel colonies
Sheltered inshore topography well suited for macro photography and night dives

Seasonality
Xiaoliuqiu remains diveable year-round because winter monsoon winds affect this southern flank less severely than northern Taiwan.
