Dive-site story
Situated along the western coastline of the Hengchun Peninsula, Shanhai Fishing Port serves as a calm coastal dive site featuring a combination of natural coral reefs and sandy channels. Divers enter from the rocky shoreline adjacent to the harbor breakwater, descending over a gradual reef slope decorated with scattered hard corals, sea whips, and localized soft coral patches. The site is especially valued during the winter months when the prevailing northeast monsoon creates choppy conditions on the eastern and southern coastlines while leaving this western pocket relatively sheltered.
Extensive colonies of garden eels populating sandy patches beyond the reef margin
Reef gullies and rocky channels providing shelter for macro critters and resting turtles
Favorable shelter from winter winds that disrupt other dive zones around Kenting

Seasonality
Autumn through early spring provides flat sea states because the central mountain range blocks prevailing northeast winds.
