Dive-site story
Located off Green Island in Taitung County, this volcanic site is defined by a cavernous swim-through known as the Time Tunnel. Sunlight filters through cracks in the ceiling, creating dramatic light shafts across the rocky passageway. Divers exit the tunnel onto a reef slope surrounded by hard coral formations and sea fans where pelagics and reef fish gather in the prevailing Kuroshio currents.
Light beams filtering through fissures into the volcanic tunnel interior
Expansive sea fan gardens and gorgonians along the outer reef slope
Frequent encounters with sea turtles resting in rock alcoves
