Dive-site story
Located within the Chassahowitzka Wildlife Management Area in Hernando County, Florida, Buford Spring is a secluded sinkhole tucked into coastal swamp terrain. Divers begin in a calm surface basin before descending through a limestone hourglass chimney that opens into a cavernous, deep room. Because of overhead limestone structures, silty bottoms, and extreme depths, it is strictly a destination for certified cave and technical divers.
