Dive-site story
Rising from the sandy seabed off the coast of Hikkaduwa, Kirala Gala features large granite boulders and pinnacles. Open-ocean currents attract schools of pelagic predators to these rock structures, making it one of the deeper offshore highlights of Sri Lanka's southwest coast. Divers typically descend along a mooring line directly onto the rock tops to explore the crevices and overhangs draped in soft corals.
Deep granite pinnacles carpeted in sea fans and soft corals
Frequent aggregations of hunting trevally, barracuda, and snappers
Sheltered cracks housing moray eels and large groupers
